Podcast Interview – ‘The Secrets on How to Get Published in High-Impact Journals’

Podcast Interview – ‘The Secrets on How to Get Published in High-Impact Journals’

Chatting with the ‘Science on Surfaces’ podcast and dishing about the process of writing for high-impact journals and how to keep your head above water while writing.

Recently I had the pleasure of sitting down with Dr Malin Edvardsson from Biolin Scientific, where she picked my brain about all things scientific writing. If you – like me – enjoy listening to interviews instead of reading them, check out our podcast and youtube interview. We went in-depth about my recommended process to write high-impact papers, talked about what my storytelling framework consists of, and discussed common struggles during the writing process. And don’t miss my (probably somewhat controversial) take on “writer’s block”!

The podcast, Science on Surfaces, focuses on surface-related phenomena and how they affect the world we live in. It’s a great resource for surface scientists but also a great listen for anyone who is in academia and wants a boost of inspiration or advice.

You can find our podcast episode here in web format but it is also available on all the podcast platforms (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and more).

And if you prefer seeing our faces while we talk, you can also watch the video version right here:

I hope you’ll enjoy this slightly different blog format! Happy listening/watching! I’d love to hear what you think!

During the episode, I mention a couple of books. Please click on the links if you would like to learn more about them:
